The concept of the Twin Recipe Book came one day while Elizabeth was at work as Reception Manager at a Doctor’s surgery in Wokingham. Her work colleague, Francine, asked Elizabeth “What shall I cook for dinner tonight”? Elizabeth replied “That would be a good idea for a book” and said “I’ll talk to my twin sister about recipes for every day of the year”.
Elizabeth and Anne then decided that to celebrate being 60 they would cook the 366 recipes between them. This took a year to do, some recipes not always going to plan. Their husbands were very patient while they were cooking and photographing each recipe and many a time the meal was on the table and they could not start eating until a photo was taken! Elizabeth and her husband David decided to move during the epic recipe making; “no problem” Elizabeth thought, “I like moving”. Unfortunately their new house was not ready, so they spent the next six weeks living on their daughter’s 46 foot converted tug “Spitfire”, still creating and cooking recipes for the book. Putting the book together and editing took quite a while, and Anne did the index which Elizabeth was thankful for.
Elizabeth has been married to David for 42 years. They have 2 daughters; Alison and Helen, and three grandsons; Anthony, Lewis and Peter. They now live at Stourport on Severn. Elizabeth enjoys bellringing, flat green bowling, scrabble, singing, walking, boating and camping.
