Anne Newcombe has always been a keen cook and was thrilled to be able to produce this book alongside her twin, Elizabeth.
When the twins were 21 they left home to get married, moved apart, raised families and to some extent went their separate ways, but have always stayed in touch and are in contact with each other every day.
When Elizabeth asked Anne to collaborate on the twin recipe book, she started planning recipes. This gave her a reason to try out some techniques and ideas that she hadn't done before, such as the Sushi recipe and the Chicken and Egg casserole. All year she was on the lookout for different ideas. For instance, when staying with her daughter in Lewes, Anne saw some purple potatoes for sale and bought them to take home for the Pork with Purple Peruvian Potatoes. She went on holiday to Spain and Morocco, came back and cooked dishes such as Paella and Beef Tagine, and when Anne wasn't looking for unusual ingredients, she was looking for attractive plates and dishes, or tablecloths to use for the photographs.
Anne now lives with her husband Fred on the Welsh borders near Montgomery. She works part time transcribing for the BBC and in her spare time as well as cooking, she enjoys playing the violin and church organ, bellringing and painting.
